Repurpose a YouTube video into a blog post, thread, or LinkedIn post
Most YouTube summarizers give you a summary and stop. If the next step is a post, you end up pasting that summary into a chat tool and starting the writing again.
YouTube Collector does that step in the same place as the transcript. Paste any YouTube video and get the full transcript and a chaptered summary whose timestamps jump to the moment. Search everything you've saved, or import a whole playlist on Pro. Free for 30 videos, no card. From there, pick a video and redraft it as a blog post, a tweet thread, or a LinkedIn post, with the transcript still open next to it.
What each tool actually gives you
Checked 1 October 2026 against each tool's own site or docs. "Not stated" means the feature isn't described there, not that it's impossible.

| AI summary with clickable timecodes | Yes, each chapter seeks the player | Only the text transcript is imported | Yes, transcript with clickable timestamps | Not stated |

One more difference worth knowing: Gemini Notebook only takes public YouTube videos that already have captions, user-uploaded or auto-generated, and imports the transcript text only. YouTube Collector can transcribe a video that has no captions (billed per use).
Choose the other tool if
Choose Gemini Notebook if your sources are mixed (PDFs, docs, slides, a few videos) and you want a study guide, briefing document, or an audio overview out of the pile. Its Studio output list is wider than ours for study formats.
Choose Glasp if highlighting across the web matters more than video. It exports highlights to Notion, Obsidian, Roam and mem.ai, or as Markdown, HTML, CSV or JSON.
Choose NoteGPT if you mainly want to queue a batch of unrelated video links and read 20 summaries, and you're happy writing your own prompt for the output format.
FAQ
Does it write the post for me, or do I edit it? It drafts from the transcript, not from a short summary, so the detail and the examples survive. You edit. It's a first draft in your material, not a finished post.
Can I do a whole back catalogue? Paste a playlist or channel URL and it imports in batches on Pro. Every transcript stays searchable afterwards, so you can pull a quote from a video you published two years ago.
What if the video has no captions? It transcribes it. That's billed per use, and the first two are free.
Is the free tier real? 30 videos, no card.
