How to get YouTube lecture summaries for a whole course
A course on YouTube is usually a playlist of long lectures. YouTube Collector keeps each lecture with its transcript and an AI summary, all in one library you can search.
What each lecture gets
- Transcript with timestamps.
- Summary. A short overview, chapters with timestamps, and key points. Click a chapter to jump to that part of the lecture.
- Notes. Add your own to any lecture.
One search across every lecture
Type a word or phrase once. YouTube Collector searches the transcripts of every lecture you have saved. Each match shows the lecture and the timestamp. Use it when you remember a definition but not the week it came up.
Adding the whole course
Pro. Paste the playlist link into the same box you use for one video. Pro imports 5 videos at a time. Paste the link again and it adds the next 5. Lectures already in your library are skipped.
Free plan. Paste one lecture link at a time, up to 30 videos. Playlist import is not on the free plan.
Put the lectures in a collection to keep the course together.
If a lecture has no captions, an AI transcript can be made from the audio. It does not work on every video. The first two are free, then they cost credits.
Some university courses already have notes for each lecture on the Lectures page.
The free plan holds 30 videos, no card. Pro ($4.99 a month) adds 100 videos a month and playlist import, 5 videos per batch.
